StatMate Finals Bracket: $25K Challenge
Terms & Conditions
1. Promoter
The promoter of this Competition is StatMate Pty Ltd. Contact: support@statmate.com.au
2. Competition Overview
The StatMate Finals Bracket competition (Competition) is a free-to-enter game of skill conducted via the StatMate app and available to be entered by registered users of StatMate. Eligible participants predict the outcomes of the 2026 AFL Finals Series by completing a single bracket, together with a tiebreaker prediction, and compete for a cash prize.
3. Eligibility
Entry is open to registered users of StatMate who are residents of Australia and are aged 18 years or over.
A person must be aged 18 years or over both to create a StatMate account and to enter the Competition.
Employees, contractors, and immediate family members of the Promoter or its related entities are not eligible to enter the Competition.
Entry is free and does not require any payment.
4. Entry Period
Entries open at 12:01AM AEST on Sunday, 30 August 2026 and close at 7:40PM AEST on Thursday, 3 September 2026 (Entry Period).
Brackets must be submitted, and any edits confirmed, before the close of the Entry Period. Entries or edits submitted after this time will not be valid.
The Competition runs across the 2026 AFL Finals Series through to and including the Grand Final. Winners are determined after completion of the Grand Final (see section 7).
The Promoter may, at its discretion, extend, suspend, or cancel the Entry Period, or cancel this Competition altogether.
5. How to Enter
During the Entry Period, a Finals Bracket feature will be available in the StatMate app. To enter, participants must:
Access the Finals Bracket feature within the StatMate app during the Entry Period.
Complete the bracket by nominating the team they predict will win each of the nine (9) Finals matches, being the two (2) Qualifying Finals, two (2) Elimination Finals, two (2) Semi-Finals, two (2) Preliminary Finals and the Grand Final; AND
Enter one (1) tiebreaker prediction by nominating the winning margin, in points, of the Grand Final; AND
Press "Submit" to confirm their selections.
Selections may be edited up until the close of the Entry Period, however edited entries are only considered valid if confirmed using the "Submit" button before that time.
For clarity:
The Competition covers only the Qualifying Finals, Elimination Finals, Semi-Finals, Preliminary Finals and Grand Final of the 2026 AFL Finals Series. Any Wildcard Round or Wildcard matches are expressly excluded and do not form part of the bracket or scoring.
Only one (1) valid entry per person is permitted for the Competition, regardless of the number of StatMate accounts a person may hold or control. Where a person submits more than one entry, including via multiple accounts, the Promoter may treat all such entries as invalid (see section 9).
6. Prizes
1st place: AUD $25,000, paid by electronic funds transfer to the winner’s nominated Australian bank account.
Total prize pool: AUD $25,000.
Where the prize is shared between tied participants (see section 7), the AUD $25,000 will be divided equally among those participants.
7. Determination of Winners
Following completion of the Grand Final, each entry will be scored by awarding one (1) point for each of the nine (9) Finals matches in which the participant correctly nominated the winning team. The maximum possible score is nine (9).
A nomination is correct only where the team the participant nominated to win a given match is the team that actually wins that match, as determined by the official AFL result. The tiebreaker margin prediction does not contribute points; it is used only to separate tied participants as set out below.
The participant(s) who achieve a perfect score of nine (9) will be ranked at the top of the leaderboard and, subject to the tiebreaker below, declared the winner(s). Where no participant achieves a perfect score of nine (9), there is no winner and no prize is awarded.
Tiebreaker. Where two (2) or more participants each achieve a perfect score of nine (9), the tie will be resolved in favour of the participant whose Grand Final margin prediction is closest to the actual Grand Final winning margin (i.e. the smallest absolute difference between the participant’s predicted margin and the confirmed result).
Where participants remain tied after the tiebreaker has been applied (that is, the same highest total score AND a margin prediction that is equally close to the actual result), those tied participants will share the AUD $25,000 prize equally.
The scoring, leaderboard and prize distribution will be finalised by the Promoter. All decisions are final and binding.
8. Notification and Prize Delivery
Winners will be notified via the email address associated with their registered StatMate account within 96 hours of leaderboard finalisation following the Grand Final.
To receive the prize, winners must complete any identity, age and residency verification required by the Promoter and provide valid Australian bank account details.
The prize will be transferred to the winner’s nominated Australian bank account within thirty (30) days of the end of the Competition (being completion of the Grand Final), subject to the winner completing verification and providing valid account details.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any delay, loss, or error arising from incorrect or outdated contact or account information. It is the responsibility of participants to ensure their registered details are up to date prior to entering the Competition.
9. Verification and Disqualification
The Promoter may require proof of identity, age, residency, eligibility and any other reasonable information before awarding a prize, and may withhold payment until it is satisfied of the same.
The Promoter may, in its sole and absolute discretion and without notice, disqualify any entry or participant, and void any entry, that is or that the Promoter reasonably suspects to be:
incomplete or fraudulent, or submitted by a person who has not otherwise complied with the StatMate terms and conditions of use, available here;
submitted through automated, scripted or bot means;
submitted by, or on behalf of, a person using or controlling multiple StatMate accounts, or created as part of bulk, mass or coordinated account creation intended to obtain more than one entry; or
otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions, or intended to manipulate, tamper with or undermine the integrity of the Competition, the bracket, the leaderboard or the prize allocation.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any participant it reasonably suspects of tampering with gameplay, scoring or leaderboard integrity, and to remove, suspend, or ban any StatMate account involved.
Where any entry is disqualified or voided, the Promoter may re-determine the winner(s) and re-allocate the prize accordingly.
10. Marketing and Promotion
By entering, participants consent to the Promoter using their name, username, and/or likeness for promotional purposes in connection with the Competition, without further compensation.
Promotional activity for this Competition may include in-app notifications, social media posts, and partner/talent collaborations (for example, the Promoter or its associates sharing a participant’s bracket or result).
By entering this Competition, participants agree to do all things reasonably requested by the Promoter (including without limitation by signing a deed) to give effect to the Promoter’s ability to promote the participant’s involvement in the Competition.
11. Privacy
Personal information collected in connection with this Competition will be handled in accordance with the StatMate Privacy Policy, available here.
By participating in the Competition, participants consent to their first name and the first initial of their surname being displayed publicly on the Finals Bracket leaderboard.
12. Liability
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, or misdirected entries.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from participation in this Competition or acceptance of any prize.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Any taxes, duties, or other charges payable as a result of a prize being awarded or received are the sole responsibility of the winner. The Promoter makes no representations and gives no advice concerning the tax implications of accepting a prize. Entrants should seek independent financial and taxation advice prior to accepting a prize. The Promoter will not be liable for any tax or other financial liability incurred by a participant in connection with this Competition or any prize.
13. Prize Distribution Notes
Winners will be notified via the email address associated with their registered StatMate account after completion of the relevant Competition Period, within 48 hours of leaderboard finalisation.
Prizes will be delivered electronically within 20 business days of notification, to the nominated email address associated with the winners registered StatMate account.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any delay, loss, or error arising from incorrect or outdated contact information. It is the responsibility of Competition participants to ensure their registered details are up to date prior to entering the Competition.
14. General
This is a game of skill; chance plays no part in determining the winners.
The Promoter’s decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The Promoter may cancel or vary the Competition where circumstances beyond its control make it necessary to do so.
If for any reason all or some prizes are not awarded, those prizes will not carry over to any future similar competitions.
Where any Finals match is abandoned, postponed, replayed or its result otherwise altered by the AFL, the Promoter will determine scoring for that match by reference to the official AFL result, and may adjust the timing of winner determination and prize payment accordingly.
These Terms and Conditions form the basis of an agreement made between StatMate and all Competition participants. StatMate is the conductor of the Competition.
